I started my journey as a journalist after teaching English in an impoverished community in Mexico amidst the 2016 election

and then resettling a Syrian refugee family in 2017.

Through these experiences and later telling their stories,

I have committed myself to people-first policy reporting,

constantly innovating to keep up with the evolving industry.

Having dedicated myself to media ethics and news habits research while simultaneously taking on leadership roles in the newsroom, I know firsthand that responsible, adaptable journalism is more needed than ever.
